Christal Presley is the author of the bestselling memoir, Thirty Days with My Father: Finding Peace from Wartime PTSD (HCI Books, 2012). She has appeared on over 100 different TV and radio shows including CBS Sunday Morning, CNN, NPR, CBS, and more, to talk about her work. Christal has been a visiting author at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Virginia Tech, The University of North Georgia, and LaGrange College.
Her non-fiction writing has appeared on CNN, The Atlanta Journal Constitution, The Roanoke Times, Showcase Magazine, Evince, and more. She is a first-place recipient in Video Storytelling from The Society for Features Journalism Excellence in Feature Writing and a Silver Medal awardee from the Military Writers Society of America.
A public school educator for 25 years, Christal is now a librarian at a middle school in the beautiful mountains of Virginia, where she lives with her wife Jane. Together they manage Abingdon Donkey Lodge, an Airbnb and equine sanctuary.
